Missions
Amcsti, the association of museums and centers for the development of scientific, technical and industrial culture, was created in 1982 and today includes nearly 250 Csti structures spread throughout the territory. Its aim is to develop this cultural sector, to contribute to its development with the Ministries in charge (Research, Culture), to unite its players around the common issues and to bring them tools for further thought during the annual congress, through its Bulletin, its internet site, its theme clubs... In addition it recognises the actions of Csti personalities by awarding its Diderot - Hubert Curien trophies annually for cultural initiative.
The Amcsti members structure the csti French network at every level, from district association work to the development of national federative events or to the mounting of exhibitions often with some European partners (e.g; the Nanodialogue project).
Today, the question of opening up this cultural field to a European level has quite naturally become obvious. Amcsti, in its role of structuring the csti in France is in a position to reinforce the scientific and technical culture European platform thanks to its cultural and scientific sub-divisions, to events quite varied by nature chosen by the members and to its links developed with large and medium size towns concerned about placing scientific culture at the centre of their public and political actions.
